Non-Arab foreign investments in UAE stocks record AED 12.5bn in 2019
The level of the net investment marks its highest peak in five years

UAE – Mubasher: The UAE’s financial markets, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), saw higher net investments from non-Arab foreign investors at AED 12.5 billion in 2019, doubling eleven times, Emirates News Agency (WAM) recently reported.

The level of the net investments of non-Arab foreign investors marks its highest peak in five years and reflects the ADX and the DFM's success in attracting foreign investments.

Moreover, the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) succeeded in upgrading the markets at international index providers to ensure attracting more capital and local and international expertise in 2019. 

Meanwhile, the value of foreign investors trading in the Emirati stock markets, through buying and selling, soared by 20.4% to stand at AED 218 billion in 2019 from AED 181 billion in 2018. The non-Arab foreign investors' trade in the two financial markets accounted for 46.1% of the total trades of foreigners in 2019, totalling AED 100.5 billion.

At the ADX, total foreign investors' trading share recorded AED 112.75 billion in 2019, including buying and selling worth AED 50 billion, while the net investments were seen at AED 9.537 billion. 

As for the DFM, the value of foreign investors’ trade registered AED 105.4 billion, including buying and selling worth AED 50.5 billion, with the net investments amounting to AED 2.983 billion at the end of 2019.
