Gazprom’s exports outside Post-Soviet area shrink 1.3% YoY in 2019

Mubasher: Russian Gazprom’s gas exports by pipeline to countries outside Post-Soviet states declined by 1.3% year-on-year to 199.2 billion cubic metres (BCM) in 2019, Reuters reported on Thursday.

Exports to China reached 328 million cubic metres last year after the launch of the Power of Siberia pipeline in December 2019.

Moreover, natural gas production increased by 0.5% to 500.3 BCM in 2019, the highest level since 2012.

In 2018, Russian energy giant Gazprom’s net income doubled over the last year, thanks to record-high sales in Europe.

Gazprom saw its net profit surging to RUB 1.456 trillion ($22.48 billion) in 2018, compared with RUB 741.96 billion in 2017.
