Egypt gov't to mechanise collection receipts in administrative bodies
The decree will contribute to the realisation of Egypt's financial inclusion targets

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Finance Minister, Mohamed Maait, has amended some provisions related to governmental accounting and the financial regulations for budget and accounts to contribute to the financial and administrative governance while laying the foundations for Egypt’s digital transformation journey.

The ministerial decree will further contribute to the realisation of the financial inclusion targets as per Egypt’s Vision 2030, Egypt's Ministry of Finance (MoF) disclosed on Wednesday.

The amendments include the procedures and rules governing the electronic accreditation of collection receipts and mechanised supply portfolios from the finance ministry before they are set to take effect.

In this regard, the Central Administration for Computer and Information Systems will be in charge to accredit the mechanised payment receipts that conform to the set standards and criteria, head of Accounts and Financial Directorates Sector, Emad Awad, stated.

The process includes the issuance of payment receipts, with a watercolour background carrying the unified and accredited logo of the finance ministry, to the electronic system of the party requesting the accreditation.

Different units of governmental administration may continue issuing the payment receipts and mechanised supply portfolios for a period of six months once the provisions are effective.
