UAE – Mubasher: Hotels in Abu Dhabi welcomed 4.7 million guests during the fourth quarter of 2019, recording the highest year-to-date figure for guest numbers, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) announced.

This announcement came during DCT Abu Dhabi's regular industry development meeting, which attended by key representatives from Abu Dhabi's hotels and industry partners, as reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Acting executive director of tourism and marketing at DCT Abu Dhabi, Ali Hassan Al Shaiba, said: “While it has been a successful year, there have undoubtedly been challenges in the market.”

The meeting also highlighted DCT Abu Dhabi’s Tactical Summer Campaign to increase visitors during summer, key strategic projects including the events to be held in 2020, and strategies to expand its source markets and footprint.

At the same time, the meeting concluded with how Dubai Expo 2020 would boost the tourism sector across the UAE.
