Dubai – Mubasher: DMCC recorded a total of 1,969 new registered companies during 2019, underlining investors’ strong confidence in Dubai and DMCC’s position as of the most interconnected business districts around the globe.
DMCC saw the strongest fourth quarter (Q4) intake in four years as the number of companies signing up to the Free Zone rose by 20% year-on-year (YoY) to reach 559, according to a press release on Sunday.
During October 2019, DMCC registered 202 new member companies, marking the highest figure in one month for two years. Total registrations increased by 5.4% YoY.
Moreover, the new member companies include start-ups, SMEs, and multinational firms from a wide range of sectors.
Commenting on the announcement, executive chairman and CEO of DMCC, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, said, “The strong 2019 performance is the result of us listening to our member companies, constantly enhancing our services and broadening our engagement with business communities around the world.”
DMCC continues to draw foreign direct investment (FDI) to Dubai from major international markets, including China and India. This will increase the entity’s contribution to Dubai’s GDP as well as the wider national economic diversification strategy, he revealed.
