Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government has allocated an additional amount of EGP 2 billion to develop roads inside governorates during fiscal year 2019/2020, prime minster Mostafa Madbouly said in a statement on Thursday.
Part of this amount will be directed to developing roads between governorates, Madbouly added.
A total of 923 roads at combined lengths of 2,229 kilometres are required to be paved during FY19/20 at a cost of EGP 3.8 billion, the local development minister, Mahmoud Sharaawy, revealed.
In addition, top-priority road pavement projects for the next two fiscal years include 2,652 roads at total lengths of 6,586 km and with combined cost of EGP 12.662 billion.
