UAE’s holdings of US Treasury bonds increase 3.9% MoM in November
The UAE has maintained its 30th place globally

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has raised its holdings of the US Treasury bonds by 3.9% month-on-month (MoM) to $39.9 billion in November 2019, compared to $38.4 billion in October, according to recent data by the US Department of the Treasury.

Year-on-Year, the UAE’s holdings of the US debt instruments declined by 29.12% or $16.4 billion last November from around $56.3 billion in the same period in 2018.

Globally, the UAE has maintained its 30th place among the holders of the US sovereign debts in November on a monthly basis, while Japan topped the list with $1.16 trillion, followed by China with $1.09 trillion.

As for the level of the Arab states, the UAE has ranked the third after Saudi Arabia whose holdings reached around $179.7 billion in November, followed by Kuwait with $43 billion.
