Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's bank deposits grew by 12.4% year-on-year to EGP 3.99 trillion during fiscal year 2018/2019, according to a report by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Tuesday.

 Family deposits increased by 14.5% to EGP 2.71 trillion during the last fiscal year, representing 68.0% of total bank deposits, data showed.

In addition, private sector’s deposits amounted to EGP 542.0 billion, rising by 4% year-on-year from FY17/18, accounting for 13.6% of total bank deposit, the state-run statistics body added.

On the other hand, bank deposits of the public service sector fell by 1% year-on-year to EGP 401.0 billion, making up 10% of total bank deposits.
