TASI closes Wednesday in red for second day in row

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) declined on Wednesday for the second consecutive session mainly due to losses by the banks and energy stocks.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) lost 0.20% or 17.12 points and closed at 8,428.21 points.

Traded volumes decreased to 170.015 million shares, compared with 174.822 million shares on Tuesday.

Correspondingly, traded values marginally went down to SAR 3.65 billion, from SAR 3.66 billion in the previous session.

Dar Al Arkan was the most actively traded stock with 17.015 million shares and logged the highest turnover with SAR 169.35 million.

Today’s trading session saw the rise of 92 stocks, led by Al Hokair that gained 5.8%, while 83 stocks closed in the red zone with Al Sorayai being the top loser by dropping 3.39%.

As for the market sectors’ performance, banks and telecom plunged 0.45% and 0.41%, respectively, while energy shed 0.33%.

Meanwhile, the materials sector index rose by 0.17%.
