EGX’s indices fall in week; Turnover records EGP 10.4bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices declined during the week ended 23 January 2020, with market capitalisation lost EGP 4.4 billion.

The benchmark index, EGX30, went down by 0.69% to 13,728 points, while the EGX70 index decreased by 0.34% to 534 points.

The EGX100 index shed 0.56% to 1,383 points, whereas the equally-weighted index, EGX50 fell 1.6% to 1,894.6 points.

Market capitalisation shrank to EGP 697.3 billion over the week, compared to EGP 701.7 billion in the previous week.

The EGX’s trading volume reached 767 million shares, while the market’ liquidity amounted to EGP 10.4 billion.
