Dubai – Mubasher: Al Futtaim Toyota in the UAE has posted strong sales during 2019 because of its new innovative models joining its portfolio, according to a press release on Sunday.

Its Toyota Land Cruiser, featuring new design and intelligent technologies, topped the sales list with 7% year-on-year compared to 2018, showing that Toyota Land Cruiser controlled its class with 48% market share.

Meanwhile, Al Futtaim Toyota’s expansion of hybrid-electric models increased the company’s hybrid sales by 29% year-on-year.

Adding to its strong performance in 2019, the company’s sales of sedan and light commercial vehicles grew by 1.5% and 6.5%, respectively.

The managing director of Al Futtaim Toyota, Saud Abbasi, said: “Despite slowing car sales in the region, Toyota sales increased on the back of the introduction of innovative and much-anticipated enthusiast products, making for an exciting road ahead.”

Abbasi added: “In 2019, we joined the global Toyota family in celebrating the 10 million sales milestone of the Land Cruiser and we are confident that the new additions to our line-up will play a bigger role in 2020 bolstering the ranks for the year ahead.”
