Emirati Bee’ah wins waste management contract in Egypt’s new capital
Egypt’s new capital will house 6.5 million people

UAE – Mubasher: UAE's leading integrated environmental, recycling, and waste management company Bee’ah has won a contract in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital which is developed by the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD).

Under the waste management contract, Bee’ah will provide innovative solutions to Egypt’s new capital, which is set to house 6.5 million people, according to a company statement released on Tuesday.

“We are delighted to be awarded the largest waste management contract in the Middle East, and are keen to take our ambitions global,” chairman of Bee’ah Salim Al Owais commented.

Bee’ah will bring the best of sustainable practices in waste management and technologies to enable a circular economy for Egypt and reduce dependency on landfills.

Located forty-five kilometres east of Cairo, the New Administrative Capital is projected to house government departments, ministries, and foreign embassies.

“Waste management is critical to city-planning for the enhancement of Egypt’s economic potential and quality of life for Egyptian citizens. We look forward to working closely with Bee’ah to achieve our sustainability target for an 80% waste diversion rates,” ACUD’s spokesperson Khalid al-Husseini said.

It is worth mentioning that the development of Egypt’s new capital is part of a broader objective to double the country’s urban space from 7% to 14% through road projects and 14 new cities by 2052.
