Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s food exports grew by 10% to $3.4 billion in 2019, compared to $3.1 billion in the year-ago period, the Middle East News Agency reported on Wednesday.

The North African country’s food exports to the Arab World went up by 11% YoY to $1.9 billion last year, while exports to European countries rose by 9% YoY to $450 million.

Meanwhile, Egyptian food exports to non-Arab African countries increased by 6% YoY to $410 million in 2019, whereas exports to the US reached $200 million.

Saudi Arabia topped importers of Egyptian food products during 2019, with the value of the kingdom’s exports hit $316 million.
