CBE sells EGP 10.7bn T-bills
The sale included 273-day notes valued at EGP 10.5 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) sold 91- and 273-day treasury bills valued at EGP 10.76 billion, lower than the target by EGP 3.74 billion.

The sale included 273-day notes valued at EGP 10.5 billion at an average yield of 14.51%, compared to 14.39% in a previous auction for T-bills with the same maturity on 21 January, according to data published on the CBE’s official website on Sunday.

A total of 194 bids valued at EGP 18 billion were submitted for 273-day notes at an average yield of 14.56%.

The Egyptian central bank also sold 91-day notes for EGP 269.67 million, lower than the target of EGP 4 billion, at an average yield of 13.79%, compared to 13.98% in a previous auction for T-bills with the same maturity on 28 January.

The CBE received 103 bids worth EGP 3.64 billion for 91-day notes at an average yield of 14.39%.
