Mubasher: Bahrain’s leading digital solutions provider Batelco announced its partnership with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) to deliver 5G international roaming services in the UAE.

Making Batelco the first Bahraini operator to offer the service, this partnership will allow Batelco’s customers to enjoy the 5G international roaming service in the UAE once they connect to du’s network, providing them with a better roaming experience.

Batelco customers can enjoy this new service by subscribing to Batelco’s roaming bolt-on packages on their 5G enabled devices, according to a press release on Wednesday.

Commenting on initiating this service, Batelco’s CEO, Mikkel Vinter, said: “This agreement becomes one of our 1,560 roaming agreements with international telecommunication companies and we are proud to be the first operator in the kingdom to provide this service using a 5G network outside of Bahrain.”

He added: “Our keenness to be the first in launching the latest technologies is motivated by our strong belief in supporting [Bahrain’s] digital economic vision.”
