Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt will earmark EGP 2 million to develop utilities in the industrial areas in Qena and Sohag, the director of the Upper Egypt local development programme, Hesham El-Helbawy, said.
This announcement came during El-Helbawy’s review of the most recent developments in the programme, which is funded by a $500 million loan from the World Bank (WB) and $457 million contribution from the Egyptian government, according to Egyptian Ministry of Planning’s statement.
The programme’s director referred that Qena and Sohag have witnessed an improvement rate up to 45% in business environment over the last year, with five million citizens benefitting from the programme.
