Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and South Korea amounted to $1.595 billion in 2019, the Egyptian minister of trade and industry Nevine Gamea said.

Bilateral trade between the two countries included electronics, engineering products, ready-made garments, chemicals, fertilizer, and medical industries. Gamea added in a statement on Tuesday.

Gamea revealed that the North African nation is in negotiations with the South Korean side to enhance cooperation in establishing industrial clusters and manufacturing machinery and equipment to develop the agricultural sector in Egypt.

Total South Korean investments in Egypt reached $570 million in 181 projects in industrial, service, construction, information and communications technology (ICT), tourism, and agricultural sectors, she noted.
