UAE – Mubasher: Additional 1.4 million visitors from five key markets, namely India, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, the UK, and Pakistan, will arrive to the UAE during Expo 2020 Dubai.
At the event, set to welcome 25 million visitors during the period from October 2020 to April 2021, the UAE is expected to receive around three million international visitors, according to the latest data released by Colliers International in partnership with Arabian Travel Market (ATM).
The visitors from India, Saudi Arabia, both the Philippines and the UK, as well as Pakistan topped the number of international arrivals with 770,000, 240,000, 150,000, and 140,000, respectively.
Commenting on the high number of visitors to Expo 2020, the exhibition director of ATM at the Middle East, Danielle Curtis, said: “It [Expo 2020] has also provided the country with the opportunity to expand its world-class hospitality offerings; upgrade its airports and transport infrastructure; and develop an expansive array or new retail, leisure and entertainment facilities.”
Curtis added: “The introduction of a new multi-entry five-year tourist visa will not only drive more frequent travel to the country and longer stays but it will also allow for a whole host of new airline routes, making the country more accessible to a host of first time tourists from emerging markets.”
