Cairo - Mubasher: Total Egyptian exports to the US market increased by 31% during 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said in a statement on Wednesday.

Total exports to the US amounted to $2.93 billion by the end of 2019, compared to $1.56 billion in 2018.

The announcement came on the sidelines of the meeting held between Egypt’s industry minister Nevine Gamea with members of the industry and trade committee of the American Chamber of Commerce. The officials discussed further bilateral trade cooperation and possibilities of a better market access of Egyptian exports to the US.

Moreover, Gamea emphasized the ministry’s commitment to activating the private sector's role as a key partner to the government in the implementation of the economic reform programs and in reaching the target development rates, in a bid to elevate the Egyptian economy to a leading position among other global economies.
