EGA, Vinacomin extend partnership until 2023
EGA has inked a three-year contract with Vinacomin

UAE – Mubasher: Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the world’s largest premium aluminium producer, has inked a three-year contract with Vinacomin, a Vietnamese mining company, to continue providing the UAE with Vietnamese alumina until 2023.

The contract will extend the period of the partnership between Vinacomin and the UAE’s EGA, which was signed in late 2017 and expected to be expired by the end of 2020.

Under the agreement, EGA will continue purchasing 300,000 tonnes of alumina from Vinacomin each year.

Commenting on the extension of the agreement, the CEO of EGA, Abdulnasser bin Kalban, said: “We are looking forward to continuing to receive Vietnamese alumina for the years ahead, as well as exploring ways we can work together more broadly such as improving port infrastructure in Vietnam and exploring other upstream opportunities.”

Meanwhile, Vinacom’s president and CEO, Dang Thanh Hai, remarked: “For Vinacomin, this agreement is also in line with the directives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam to contribute to further strengthening the trading relationship with the UAE, our country’s most important trading partner in the Middle East and North Africa.”
