ADX closes Thursday on biggest daily gains in 10 years

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) gained 285.95 points or 8.41% to register 3,685.56 points by the end of Thursday’s trading session, in the highest rise for the index in a decade, as it maintained the positive performance for the second day in a row.

The market cap value jumped by AED 25.92 billion to AED 403.46 billion, compared to AED 377.54 billion during the previous session.

The turnover amounted to AED 258.18 million after 118.16 million shares were traded through 2,467 transactions.

Regarding the sectors, banks topped the gainers with 11.99%, followed by the telecommunications segment with 6.94%.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) led the green zone with 14.41%, while Commercial International Bank came on top of the red zone with 5%.

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) posted the highest turnover of AED 98.04 million, while Eshraq Investments was the most active stock with 31.10 million traded shares.

Aldar Properties headed the rising blue-chip stocks with 7.10%, while Dana Gas topped the losing blue chips with 0.53%.
