Egypt closes museums, historic sites, mosques
Archaeological sites will be closed for a week

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities has decided to close all museums and archaeological sites next week, from 23 March until 31 March 2020.

The move will allow disinfecting and sanitizing the mentioned sites, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, according to a statement on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Awqaf has decided to close mosques across the country for two weeks, starting Saturday 21 March, as part of efforts to stop the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

It is worth noting that the number of COVID-19 cases in Egypt reached 285.
