Cairo – Mubasher: Elsewedy Electric Company and ABB Group have inked a partnership to ensure efficient electricity supply in the strategic expansion of Egypt's Toshka 2 substation.

Under the partnership, ABB Power Grids will provide the second phase of the 300-megawatt (MW) electric interconnection project between Egypt and Sudan, with high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) of 500-kilovolt (kV) and  500 kV shunt reactors, according to a recent press release.

The CEO of Elsewedy Electric, Medhat Maher, said: “We are committed to working with global leaders who enable us to deliver premium quality and reliable energy to the Egyptian grid.
