Kuwait allows residence violators to depart without paying fines
Residents allowed to leave Kuwait next month without paying travel costs or violation fines

Mubasher: Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Anas Al Saleh, on Monday issued a resolution granting a grace period to residence violators to depart the country without paying any fines.

The amnesty decision allows residents to leave Kuwait during the period from Wednesday, 1 April to Thursday 30 April, without incurring any travel fees or flight tickets, with the right to return to the Gulf country another time, according to an official statement on the ministry's Twitter page.

In addition, the Kuwaiti government will provide decent shelters to violators from the time they complete their travel arrangments until their travel date.

It is noteworthy that the move is in light of the special circumstances in Kuwait and part of the directives aimed to combat the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

Earlier on Monday, Kuwait reported a total of 266 COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours.
