Egypt’s tourism revenues rise to $7.2bn in H1-19/20
Egypt's BoP posted an overall surplus of $410.9 million

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s tourism revenues rose by $459.7 million or 6% year-on-year to $7.2 billion in the first half of fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $6.79 billion, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Meanwhile, the North African nation’s travel payments grew by $615.1 million to $2 billion during the six-month period ended 31 December 2019, data showed on Monday.

It is noteworthy to mention that Egypt's balance of payments (BoP) posted an overall surplus of $410.9 million in H1 of FY19/20, compared to an overall deficit of $1.8 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.
