EGX loses EGP 7.4bn market cap at Sunday’s close
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 365.4 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a negative note, pressured by foreign and Arab selloffs.

The benchmark EGX30 index fell by 1.93%, ending the session at 9,272 points.

Likewise, the EGX70 EWI declined by 0.97% to 986.21 points, while the broader EGX100 index dropped by 1.14% to 1,012 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX50 index went down by 1.55% to 1,320 points.

The market cap value plunged by EGP 7.4 billion to EGP 520.96 billion on Sunday.

Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 794.15 million and EGP 10.17 million, respectively, while local investors were net buyers with EGP 804.3 million.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 365.4 million after 145.13 million shares were traded through nearly 17,590 transactions.
