Kuwait to implement project to support health bodies against COVID-19
The new project will be built in the Sabhan area

Mubasher: Kuwait Industries Union (KIU) will implement a comprehensive project at a cost of KWD 1 million ($3.2 million) for the construction of warehouses, inventories, and administrative offices in an attempt to support the country’s health bodies against the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported on Monday.

The 25,000-square-metre facility is affiliated to the Council of Ministers General Secretariat (CMGS) and will be built in the Sabhan area, KIU’s chairman, Hussein Al Kharafi, said.

Al Kharafi called upon all KIU’s members, including Kuwaiti manufacturers and industrial companies’ owners, to contribute to the project with their locally-manufactured products.

This participation reflects the importance of local products for being the safe haven and their vital role in coping with and facing crises, he added.

It is worth pinpointing that the KIU was founded in 1989 as a non-profit organisational institute for investors in the industrial sector in Kuwait with the aim to promote the industry sector, improve employees' performance, and boost the national economy.
