Mubasher: Jazeera Airways has operated 15 flights last Sunday as part of the first phase of the air bridge flights to repatriate Kuwaiti citizens from abroad in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The airline operated four flights from Dammam, nine from Riyadh, Dubai, and Manama, in addition to another two from Doha, CEO of Jazeera Airways Terminal (T.5) at Kuwait International Airport, Mane Al Manea, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) late on Sunday.

All returning citizens underwent testing procedures at a well-equipped centre prepared in cooperation with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

The first phase, which began last Sunday and ends on Tuesday, is the first of five phases and it includes 75 flights to 16 destinations, namely Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Manama, Doha, Cairo, Alexandria, Amman, London, Istanbul, Ankara, Paris, and Geneva.

Last month, Jazeera Airways placed its 14-aircraft fleet at the disposal of the Kuwaiti government for the purpose of evacuating nationals from countries affected by COVID-19 or transporting necessary medical products and equipment.

It is noteworthy that the airline ran its first all-cargo flight to and from Riyadh on Wednesday, 15 April.
