Cairo – Mubasher: The hotel industry in Egypt is expected to recover from the repercussions of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak starting from the fourth quarter of 2020 and 2021, according to a recent report released by Colliers International.

Hotels in Cairo are seen to be leading the recovery with expected occupancy rate of 65% in 2021 from 46% in 2020, followed by Alexandria with 62% in 2021 from 42% in 2020.

Hotel occupancy rates in Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh are forecast to be at 48% and 43%, respectively, in 2021, from 34% and 31% in 2020.
