Mubasher: Kuwait’s tourism revenue decreased by 0.50% in 2019, with local tourism generating KWD 376.1 million ($1.22 billion), compared with KWD 378 million ($1.23 billion) for 2018, according to data by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).

The spending of Kuwaiti nationals on tourism abroad amounted to KWD 4.028 billion last year, up from KWD 3.732 billion in the previous year, increasing by roughly 8%.

In addition, 2020 is set to witness another decline in tourism revenues around the globe, with air travel suspended worldwide, major economies under lockdown, and people applying social distancing as part of efforts against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
