Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended the second week of May on a positive note, recovering some of its losses in the previous week.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) increased by 1.3% or 88.45 points, as it closed Thursday, 14 May, at the level of 6,716.98 points.

As for the performance of the market sectors, the telecom index gained 4.7%, while materials and energy rose by 4.1% and 1.5%, respectively, and the banks' sector added 0.4%.

Only four sectors registered losses this week, led by consumer services and real estate that plunged by 8.1% and 4.2%, respectively.

Trading values declined by 18% to SAR 18.7 billion, compared with 22.8 billion in the previous week.

Trading volumes decreased by 20.4% to 944.7 million shares, down from 1.2 billion traded shares in the week ended on 7 May.

The Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) logged a 1.7% rise this week, adding 115 points, as it settled at the level of 6,838,84 points.
