Saudi inflation up 1.3% in April
Food and beverages prices increased by 6.1% during April

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Saudi Arabia increased by 1.3% in April 2020 on a yearly basis, after registering 1.5%.

The food and beverages and the miscellaneous goods and services groups contributed the most to this increase in inflation, with their average prices rising by 6.1% and 1.7%, respectively, according to the data by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).

Meanwhile, the prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels declined by 0.5% on an annual basis.

It is worth noting that the CPI decreased by 0.1% compared to its reading in March.
