Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s index of manufacturing and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, dropped by 8.7% month-on-month (MoM) to 113.10 in February from 123.87.
The index of pharmaceutical and chemical products industry increased by 3.9% to 118.20 last February, compared to 113.80 a month earlier, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said in a statement on Monday.
In addition, the index of non-metallic minerals rose by 6.6% to 114.19 in February from 107.07 in January.
On the other hand, the index of ready-made garments slid by 8.9% to 96.21 points in the second month of 2020 from 105.63 in the prior month.
The index of tobacco industry fell by 4.5% MoM to 191.57 from 200.59 in January.
