Cairo – Mubasher: Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company (UEEPC) has completed the expansion and replacement works of electricity distribution networks in Aswan from 1 July 2019 until the end of last April at a cost of EGP 500 million.

This is line with the government’s efforts to enhance electricity services provided to subscribers all over the country, minister of electricity and renewable energy Mohamed Shaker said in a statement on Wednesday.

The number of electricity subscribers in Aswan amounted to about 540,000, Shaker added.

UEEPC’s works included the establishment of five electric distribution units with a capacity of 11 kilovolt (kv) and the installation of 363 substations with variable capacities.
