Tadawul maintains downward streak for third day

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday’s trading session in decline, for the third consecutive day, but narrowed down some of its earlier losses.

The main index decreased by 0.20% or 14.63 points and closed at 7,207.78 points, after opening on a 1.18% decline.

A total of 234.176 million shares were traded with a turnover of SAR 4.76 billion.

Sharqiyah Development led the session’s gainers, adding 5.7%, while MedGulf was the top losing stock, and fell by 5.33%.

Al Rajhi logged the highest turnover with SAR 356.607 million, while Dar Alarkan was the most actively traded stock with 33.067 million shares.

Most of the market sectors closed in the red zone, led by the energy sector that dropped by 1.44%. The energy and banks sectors lost 0.32% and 0.05%, respectively, while the telecom index rose by 0.78%.
