Mubasher: Al Baraka Banking Group, dually-listed on Bahrain Bourse and Nasdaq Dubai, announced the appointment of Abdullah Saleh Kamel as the board's new chairman.

Previously, the chairman position was held by the late Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel, the group's founder who passed away last month.

Kamel served as the board's vice chairman and chairman of the executive committee for several years, contributing to the group's expansion strategies, according to a press release on Monday.

Commenting on the appointment, the President and Chief Executive of Al Baraka Banking Group, Adnan Ahmed Yousif, said: "This acceptance [for assuming the Chairmanship] provides a sure guarantee that the Group will continue with the same approach its late Founder chose for it."
