UAE - Mubasher: DP World UAE Region has inked an agreement with DGWorld to provide Jebel Ali Port with a fleet of Autonomous Internal Terminal Vehicles (AITV´s) to transport and load containers in the port.

Under the signed contract, DGWorld, the autonomous vehicle, robotics, and AI specialist, will integrate the autonomous technology in the existing fleet of internal terminal vehicles in various phases to increase the port's efficiency, according to a recent press release.

DP World UAE Region highlighted the aim to enhance its initiative and strategy of introducing and integrating digitalisation and new technologies into daily operations, setting a new global standard for traditional port operations, supply chains, and the future of trade, by raising efficiency and simultaneously reducing the overall size of the currently used fleet.

Commenting on the agreement, the CEO and managing director of DP World, Mohammed Al Muallem, said: "At DP World, UAE Region, we employ today's frontline technologies such as robotics, automation, Internet of Things, Big Data, virtual reality, and cybersecurity to build and sustain our efficiencies."
