Egypt-China trade exchange reaches $3.2bn in Q1-20
Chinese exports to the most populous Arab nation reached $2.8 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: Bilateral trade between Egypt and China amounted to $3.2 billion in the first quarter of 2020, compared to $3.1 billion in the year-ago period, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Monday, citing the minister counsellor for commercial affairs of the Chinese embassy in Cairo, Han Bing.

Chinese exports to the most populous Arab nation reached $2.8 billion, while the Egyptian exports to China stood at $330 million, Bing added.

Top Egyptian exports to China include petroleum products, gas, fruits, textiles, and aluminium.

Bing further revealed that the Chinese investments in Egypt registered $35 million in Q1-20, down by 12% year-on-year.
