ENOC group saw increased use of cashless payments in the UAE

Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC Group) announced on Wednesday that it has recorded 12 million cashless transactions in the first five months of 2020 in the UAE.

This comes as the company is encouraging increased use of cashless payments, in accordance with the UAE Government directives to maintain precautionary measures against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The growth of cashless transactions across our retail operations underpins our commitment to supporting the nation’s smart infrastructure and, especially during these challenging times; ensure the safety of our customers and employees,” Saif Humaid Al Falasi, ENOC Group CEO, said.

More than five million cashless transactions were recorded through ENOC Vehicle Identification Pass (VIP); another five million cashless transactions were facilitated via debit and credit cards, according to the company’s statement.

Customers also used ENOC Select Card to make 1.38 million cashless transactions, and more than 15,000 cashless transactions were paid through ENOCPay, while Dubai Smart Government enabled an additional 26,118 cashless transactions.

It is worth noting that the use of cashless payments is one of the key pillars of the UAE Vision 2021.
