UAE - Mubasher: Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) will launch a virtual Building Retrofit Training Programme to promote green building practices in the Middle East and North Africa.

Set in partnership with the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Masdar, the programme aims to share knowledge among construction sector stakeholders about building retrofit and ways to enhance energy and water efficiency, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The two-level course will highlight the energy, water, air quality, materials, and waste innovative management aspects to construct sustainable and environmentally friendly buildings.

The Chairman of  EmiratesGBC, Ali Al Jassim, said: "Building retrofit is a critical aspect of building sustainability and will support the UAE’s ambitious targets of Net Zero Carbon in new buildings by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon in all the buildings by 2050."
