UAE establishes new government structure
A Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology was created

UAE - Mubasher: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice president, prime minister, and the ruler of Dubai, has announced the UAE's new government structure, in which around 50% of the federal entities will be merged with each other or within existing ministries.

As part of the new government structure, 50% of the government service centres will be cancelled and transformed into digital platforms within two years.

A Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, chaired by Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, will be established to develop the UAE's industrial sector and merged with the Emirates Authority For Standardization and Metrology.

The new ministry will include the Ministry of State for Advanced Sciences under its umbrella.

The UAE Ministry of Energy will be merged with the Ministry of Infrastructure to form a new Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. The new ministry will have both the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme and the Federal Transport Authority - Land & Maritime (FTA) under its management.

Suhail Al Mazroui was appointed the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.

In addition, three ministers were appointed within the Ministry of Economy, comprising Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri as the Minister of Economy, Ahmed Belhoul as Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, and Thani Al Zeyoudi as the Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
