UAE ranks 11th globally in logistics performance
The UAE topped the region on the index

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has been placed in the 11th position on the Logistics Performance Index (LPI), an interactive benchmarking tool created by the World Bank.

This announcement was made by Savills, the international real estate advisor, during its second in-depth Middle East webinar, according to a press release.

The UAE topped the Middle East in the LPI, followed by Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Egypt.

Savills referred that the region's countries employ great investments in modernising its existing infrastructure and developing future projects to ensure high levels of efficiency and sustainability.

The head of Savills, Ihsan Kharouf, said that the region is witnessing development in its trade and logistics sector, as exports increased by 21% in 2018 to $1.13 trillion.

Kharouf added that the capacity of deep-sea container ships on the Asia-Middle East route has also doubled to 18,000 containers in 2020.
