Dubai – Mubasher: Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will launch its operations on 14 July with flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Alexandria and Sohag in Egypt, according to a press release on Monday.

With two Airbus A320 aircraft based in the Abu Dhabi International Airport, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will start its operations with the Abu Dhabi-Alexandria flight on 14 July, followed by a flight to Sohag on 15 July.

The UAE capital's first low-cost carrier, a joint-venture (JV) between Etihad Airways and Air Arabia, has followed local and international guidelines to ensure passengers' safety.

The flights to Alexandria will be operated three times a week, while flights to Sohag will leave Abu Dhabi every Wednesday.

The Group CEO of Etihad Aviation Group, Tony Douglas, said: "This joint venture between Etihad and Air Arabia will offer greater convenience and direct access to the UAE’s thriving capital for new markets worldwide, beginning with two key Egyptian routes, and expanding in time."

At the same time, the Group CEO of Air Arabia, Adel Al Ali, remarked: "Abu Dhabi is a major travel and tourism hub and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will further serve this vision by positioning Abu Dhabi as a key hub in the region for low-cost travel."

It is noteworthy to mention that in late April, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi has obtained its Air Operating Certificate (AOC) after fulfilling all safety regulations to become the fifth UAE national operating airline.
