Egypt implements water, wastewater projects at EGP 58.5bn
A total of 295 water projects have been established at a cost of EGP 38.5 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development announced the completion of 489 water and wastewater projects in cities at a cost of EGP 58.5 billion in the last six years.

A total of 295 water projects have been established at a cost of EGP 38.5 billion, while 62 other projects are being built at a cost of EGP 8.3 billion, the country’s housing minister Assem El-Gazzar said in a statement on Tuesday.

Moreover, 194 wastewater projects have been constructed at a cost of EGP 20 billion, whereas 35 other projects are being established at a cost of EGP 6.2 billion.

In addition, the construction works of the secondary and tertiary wastewater treatment plant in Upper Egypt have been complete with a capacity of 1.2 million cubic metres per day at a cost of EGP 8.9 billion.
