EGX ends Wednesday on varied note
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.6 billion

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note amid local purchases and Arab and foreign selloffs.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 0.7% to end the session at 11,127 points.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI fell by 0.13% to 1,542 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI increased by 0.12% to 2,378 points.

In addition, the EGX50 index advanced by 0.28% to 1,850 points.

The market cap value increased by EGP 1.28 billion to reach EGP 608.46 billion, its highest level since 8 March. 

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 30.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 4.5 million and EGP 26.2 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.6 billion after 593.8 million shares were traded through nearly 52,600 transactions.
