Saudi Arabia conducts over 2.2m coronavirus tests
KSA opened some laboratories and specialised units recently

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Health has so far conducted more than 2.27 million polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests since the coronavirus (COVID-19) first appeared, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

Recently, a number of laboratories and specialised units were launched across the kingdom to further enhance protection from COVID-19. The labs were a quantum leap in improving the testing service.

The ministry is ramping up to raise the number of tests through several effective measures that helped in the early detection of infected patients. These include expanded screening carried out by the ministry’s field teams.

The mass testing was instrumental in registering infections and helped to effectively contain the virus spread.
