Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Tahya Misr Fund has contributed EGP 1 billion to develop the social housing project in El-Mokattam area, El-Asmarat, for more than 80,000 residents of slums.

The project features 429 buildings comprising 18,000 residential units and 281 commercial units as well as tens of service and entertainment facilities, the fund's executive director Tamer Abdel Fattah said in a statement late on Monday.

In addition, the fund also contributed to repairing and renovating 10,000 damaged houses in 332 villages spread across 18 governorates at a cost of EGP 300 million.
