UAE postpones Hope probe's launch to 17 July
The probe was scheduled to liftoff on Wednesday

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE will launch its Hope probe on Friday, 17 July 2020, at 12:43 am (UAE time), according to a press release on Tuesday.

The UAE Space Agency and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, has delayed the launch of the Emirates Mars Mission for two days due to bad weather conditions in Japan.

The probe was scheduled to liftoff on Wednesday, 15 July, at 12:51 am (UAE time) from Japan’s Tanegashima Space Centre, but storm clouds rolled in around the launchpad and caused the postponement of the launch.

The new date will meet the launch window that extends until 3 August and has been set to ensure the arrival of the Hope probe in the shortest period with the least consumed energy.
