UAE – Mubasher: The UAE reported the highest proportions of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that are still operating their commercial businesses and engaging in revenue-generating activities despite coronavirus (COVID-19).

This announcement was shown by the Global State of Small Business report, published by Facebook, in partnership with the World Bank and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), according to a press release on Wednesday.

The report has surveyed over 30,000 small business leaders across more than 50 countries.

The UAE's SMBs were the most optimistic in the survey about the future of their businesses post-COVID-19.

The managing director of Facebook MENA, Ramez Shehadi, said: "The path to recovery is uncertain and as economies start to re-open, SMBs will need continued support from governments or other institutions to get back on track – we hope this report will help identify areas where that support can make the biggest difference."
