Madbouly follows up on natural gas vehicles conversion strategy
Electric cars will contribute to reducing emissions

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has held a meeting to follow up on the incentive system to convert more gasoline-run cars to natural gas and the strategy for electric car manufacturing.

During the meeting, public business sector minister Hisham Tawfiq said that electric cars will contribute to reducing gas emissions from ordinary vehicles, which cause more than 30% of the total emissions.

The minister added that on 18 June, Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries inked an agreement with China's Dongfeng Motor Corporation to manufacture electric cars at El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company.

Tawfiq noted that affordable electric cars' prices and availability of public stations to charge these cars at low costs are among the factors influencing the adoption of electric vehicles.
